last weekend aaron took me to a wedding of his friends in portland, oregon– it was my first wedding (as an adult), and it happened to be for one of my favorite artists, carson ellis, and favorite musicians, colin meloy of the decemberists. the wedding party camped out in the woods under a full moon and the whole night was really, really beautiful.we flew back to new york at 6am and i was back to work the next day, still dreaming about portland coffee and songs around a bonfire.
working on a film now- we started shooting this week and tonight i got home from work past 3am. that isn’t uncommon for a shoot day but even though i’m aching and tired i love working like this, which makes me wonder if i’m out of my mind.
summer used to be my least favorite season of the year, but lately i’ve grown to really like them. there’s usually a lot of film work around this time- but in between it makes one really appreciate all of the backyard, rooftop, or prospect park barbeques, margaritas at outdoor cafes, bike riding dates, and hazelnut iced coffees.
i love this photo series korean photographer yeon doo jung did called wonderland, that interpreted childrens’ drawings through real sets and props.

those who know me well know i can’t cook. my roommate aileen makes me dinner pretty often, and i thought i’d try to make her dinner for once the other night. i had salmon fillets, so i looked up recipes and found this: how to cook salmon, dumb guys recipe. perfect, i thought! except you need lemon, pepper, carrots, scallion, soy sauce.. i ended up using half of those, making me a girl that cooks like a lazy, ill-prepared, dumb guy.
i redesigned and updated my website! with help from aileen of course. i think gusgus likes it. we love gusgus (aka gustave, gustapo, cutie, kitty, baby cat, bunny cat, churtle, pumpkin brains, little rascal, handsome, shekki, etc).
